If you’ve ever watched a triathlon and thought “I’d love to do that one day,” this post is for you. You don’t need to be super fit, own a fancy bike or have years of experience to start triathlon training. You just need a plan, some patience and the belief that you can learn something new.
Triathlon is made up of three sports: swim, bike and run. When you’re starting out, the goal isn’t to be amazing at all three straight away. Instead, we focus on building confidence and consistency in each discipline, one step at a time. That might mean learning to feel calm in the water, getting comfortable on your bike or being able to run for a few minutes without stopping.
A good beginner plan starts with where you are right now. We look at your current fitness, you

r schedule and your goals, then build sessions that fit your life. That might be two or three short workouts a week to begin with, gradually increasing time and intensity as your body adapts. Rest and recovery are just as important as training days, especially when you’re juggling work, family and everyday life.
Strength training is also a key part of triathlon preparation. Simple, functional exercises help you move better, stay injury-free and feel stronger in every part of the race. We’ll focus on core stability, leg strength and upper body power so you feel supported from start to finish.
Most importantly, triathlon training should feel encouraging, not intimidating. You’re allowed to be a beginner. You’re allowed to take it at your own pace. With the right guidance and a supportive coach, you can build the skills, fitness and confidence you need to stand on that start line feeling ready and proud of how far you’ve come.
